![]() On Sunday, Aug. 23, Trinity Lutheran Church celebrated the 50th anniversary of the day it's senior pastor, the Rev. Robert M. Ziegler, was ordained into the ministry. The celebration also overserved the 40 years Pastor Ziegler has served Trinity, Atchison. The following is the press release written for that service.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison, Kansas., will honor the Rev. Robert M. Ziegler on August 23 to celebrate his 50 years of ministry.
A graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, Pastor Ziegler was ordained July 19, 1959. He served at Zion Lutheran, Claflin, Kansas, from 1959 to 1969. He has served at Trinity Lutheran in Atchison since 1969.
A Celebration Service will be held in Pastor Ziegler’s honor, Aug. 23, 2009 at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Jerry Kosberg, Phoenix, Arizona and the Rev. Keith Kohlmeier, LCMS Kansas District President, will conduct the service.
A reception in the school gymnasium will follow the service.
In the morning worship services at 8 and 10:30 a.m., Mr. Jerry Bisping, Director of Christian Outreach at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Warner Robins, Georgia, will deliver the message. The Rev. Dennis FitzPatrick, associate pastor at Trinity, will provide readings and communion service.
Jon Schultz, pastor of Life Lutheran Church, Bixby, Oklahoma, will lead the Adult Bible Class at 9:15 in the school gymnasium.
